According to the news from Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, on January 28th, the "Mobilization Meeting to Promote High-Quality Development and Strive to be a Demonstration Leader" was held. During the meeting, the vision for the establishment of the National Integrated Circuit Design Automation Technology Innovation Center (referred to as "EDA National Innovation Center") was announced. The EDA National Innovation Center is jointly developed by Southeast University and Jiangbei New Area, and it will be located in the new area.

It is understood that in 2021, the Nanjing Integrated Circuit Design Automation Technology Innovation Center, jointly established by Southeast University and Jiangbei New Area, was officially established. On December 30, 2022, the Ministry of Science and Technology officially approved the construction of the EDA National Innovation Center in Nanjing.

The vision for the EDA National Innovation Center, as approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is to gather national research strengths and innovative institutional mechanisms, carry out core technology research, and establish a talent cultivation system. The goal is to establish an effective cooperation mechanism and hub between the EDA industry and academia, and build the EDA technology source, product demonstration area, and talent gathering place in China within five years.

The establishment of the EDA National Innovation Center is a major strategic deployment for Nanjing City to focus on breakthroughs in key core areas. It is also a crucial step for Jiangbei New Area to build itself into a high-end integrated circuit industry hub and enhance its technological innovation capabilities in the integrated circuit industry.

In recent years, Jiangbei New Area has focused on the development of the integrated circuit industry. It has constructed a complete industry chain covering IC design as the core, with EDA, optoelectronic chips, and radio frequency chips as distinctive features. The industry chain includes manufacturing, packaging and testing, special materials and equipment, terminal manufacturing, and applications. More than 600 upstream and downstream enterprises have gathered in the new area, with over half of the top ten chip design companies in the country settling here.

Furthermore, Jiangbei New Area has actively explored the industrial ecosystem and established innovation platform carriers such as the EDA public technology service platform and the Nanjing Integrated Circuit Training Base, allowing various advantageous resources to be fully aligned with industrial development.
